Paneer Jalebi

Ingredients & Measurements :

  • Cottage cheese (Paneer)(Crumbled ) – 300 grams
  • Sugar – 1 Cup
  • Saffron ( 5 Strands )
  • Ghee ( To deep fry )
  • Green Cardamom Powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Corn flour – 1/4 Cup
  • Refined flour – 2 Tablespoons
  • Baking Powder -1/4 Teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Water as required

Garnishing :

  • Pistachio slivers to garnish.

Instructions :

  • Heat a non-stick pan, add ½ cup water and sugar, let it seethe.
  • Add cardamom powder and saffron to the sugar syrup and mix.
  • Consistency of sugar syrup needs to be of one string; keep stirring until done.
  • Add cornflour, refined flour, baking powder, baking soda, cottage cheese ( paneer ), and ½ cup water and mix it well, turning it into a formable smooth batter.
  • Take a non-stick pan and add ghee onto low heat.
  • Take a piping bag and add batter to it; pipe spirals directly into hot ghee-like churros. Deep-fry, turning sides, till golden brown. Let it sit for 2 minutes, and then add it to the earlier made syrup.
  • Drop the jalebis into the sugar syrup for 5 minutes.
  • Take out Jalebis from the syrup, garnish with pistachio slivers and serve.

Serving Suggestion :
Best to serve hot and fresh.
