Paneer Kheer

Paneer Kheer is a delectable Bengali Dessert, also known as Channar Payasam or Paneer Payasam, very similar in taste and texture to ras malai. A quick and easy recipe, everybody will fall in love with this one.

Ingredients & Measurements :

  • Shuddh Paneer (cottage cheese) – 150 gm (crumbled)
  • Shuddh Ghee (clarified butter) – 1 Teaspoon
  • Milk – 1 litre (full cream)
  • Cashew – Handful (halved)
  • Almonds – Handful (halved)
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom Powder – 1 Teaspoon or (as per your liking)
  • Raisins – 1 Tablespoon
  • Saffron – Pinch (it’s for colour and floral taste)

Instructions :

  • Take a deep pan (kadhai), add ghee, roast raisins, almonds and cashew to a golden brown.
  • Add milk, add saffron and stir well on medium heat until milk thickens and starts to simmer.
  • Add sugar, Shuddh paneer and mix well.
  • Simmer it for 5 minutes until it starts cooking.
  • Add cardamom powder and stir well.
  • Your delicious Paneer Kheer is ready to serve!

Suggestion :

A perfect dish for festivals or parties. You can add Dry-Fruits as per choice, and if you wish to skip on sugar, condensed milk is the best substitute. You can refrigerate it too, stays fresh up to 3 days.
