Ingredients & Measurements :
- Cottage cheese (Paneer)(Crumbled ) – 300 grams
- Sugar – 1 Cup
- Saffron ( 5 Strands )
- Ghee ( To deep fry )
- Green Cardamom Powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
- Corn flour – 1/4 Cup
- Refined flour – 2 Tablespoons
- Baking Powder -1/4 Teaspoon
- Baking soda – 1/2 Teaspoon
- Water as required
Garnishing :
- Pistachio slivers to garnish.
Instructions :
- Heat a non-stick pan, add ½ cup water and sugar, let it seethe.
- Add cardamom powder and saffron to the sugar syrup and mix.
- Consistency of sugar syrup needs to be of one string; keep stirring until done.
- Add cornflour, refined flour, baking powder, baking soda, cottage cheese ( paneer ), and ½ cup water and mix it well, turning it into a formable smooth batter.
- Take a non-stick pan and add ghee onto low heat.
- Take a piping bag and add batter to it; pipe spirals directly into hot ghee-like churros. Deep-fry, turning sides, till golden brown. Let it sit for 2 minutes, and then add it to the earlier made syrup.
- Drop the jalebis into the sugar syrup for 5 minutes.
- Take out Jalebis from the syrup, garnish with pistachio slivers and serve.
Serving Suggestion :
Best to serve hot and fresh.
